News Scooping.

It has indeed been a while since I've managed to post here on the MacTake, but I'm finally back. You see, I've been working closely with the development team on Dunhenry's next release of streamk. Let me just say: yes, it will be a general public release, and yes we'll support user created themes and to a degree, applications.

So what has happened while I've been away? Amongst other goodies, Leopard was previewed again at the WWDC. Major changes to finder and desktop, and some other presents thrown in. Check it out at apple.com/macosx/leopard/. Because I'm late on covering that, I won't go into too much detail as you will have all seen the keynote or got the idea by now anyway.

One thing I will mention is, if you want the nice new desktop background shipping with leopard now.... you can find it here.

Otherwise, there was an update for appzapper which I recommend getting, and ID is releasing their new engine for the Mac, along with some of EA's games. However macnn doesn't think much of this, and until I see that cider actually works well on my iMac C2D 256mb x1600 system, I'll still be using the family PC to play most of my games on.

Leopard has also ranked as #1 on amazon for pre-orders, and Apple has released a version of Safari for windows. It's buggy, but looks sweet and seems to do everything just that little bit faster than IE7.

Also, a mac os x beta version of Safari (which is considerably less buggy than the windows version) has been released. Few changes include improved finding and tabs. It's worth checking out.

Till next time!
