Flock *updated*

Yesterday I was furiosly raving about Flock. Today, I'm having one or two second thoughts.

It's still a great browser, it still beats IE (duh) even maybe Camino and it still has some awesome features that trump Safari's set. of almost mundane defaults compared.

Its just that Flock is still pre version 1.0 ( sorry dev's, I know you're working hard! ), and that just lets it slide when day to day use is concerned.

The search preferences pane refuses to work, and I cant seem to edit my favorites ( the prompt or window won't load ).

The great thing however, is to see that Flock is actually windows app as well, and the Mac Version is simply a port of that. The fact that the devs payed so much attention to the Mac version is just great.

So as far as Flock is concerned, I suggest running it side-by-side with Safari and therefore, any issues encountered with Flock can be negated just by switching to a Safari window.

Flock has the makings, I just think we need to give it a little time to prove that on every level for us.

Keep it up devs!

If you can provide us with specific browser bugs, I'll make sure that they get attacked in the next cycle. Also, since you seem to be one of those users who are clear on the difference between beta software and a final release, you might want to try out the (gasp!) hourly build at tinderbox.flock.com. Although it's not due to make a public release for a few more weeks (we're still quashing bugs, as you can imagine), it's got quite a few updates from the 0.7.x world.

Thanks again for the kind words - we're always keen to work together with users to make sure that Flock becomes the *only* browser they ever need.

Sure Joshua,
Thanks for dropping in to the MacTake, really appreciate that!

Like I said, I really believe Flock has the makings, and to be completely fair its delivering on most of them right now. It was just little things like switching from yahoo search to google search and that it doesn't remember that its already set up a blogger account with me, and asks each time I go to the dashboard.

Everyone here at MacTake, however, is looking forward to the next cycle of Flock, and you'll probably see the lovely little 'Posted in Flock' tag at the bottom of many of our posts!

Keep it up, and once again thanks for dropping in to the MacTake!
