10.4.9★
Apple have released a massive update, 10.4.9 alongside an iPhoto patch.10.4.9 has delivered increased security, stability and boot up times.
Definitely recommend downloading it, but note some compatibility issues:
MainMenu will not work with 10.4.9 as of its current version. I don't think there was any warning for the Dev's over there and I'm sure they're already under-way with a fix.
It seems with every major system update, my iMac increases its boot time. Its now about 45 seconds on a fast start up.
You can get the update by clicking on Apple, then Software Update...
If anyone else has any issues with 10.4.9, email or comment in! Your views are appreciated!
Happy Mac'ing

10.4.9
since last week's update, i am having trouble with intel imac.
my older g4s with classic are getting disconnected when copying files to 10.4.9 intel imac.
i have checked and rechecked permissions and run disk repair to fix permission to no avail.
files copy from classic machines OK to panther G4s and G5, to tiger G4s and to W2K and XP machines.
Any suggestions?

Hi Glenn,
Thanks for dropping into The MacTake!
You have a very valid and interesting issue here. Off the top of my head I can't suggest a reason why the update would cause these problems.
Just to let you know that we've taken on board your issue, and right now we're looking to write a blog post with a fix on it.
For now I suggest moving the files incrementally, first onto the windows box and then to the new mac.
Also check that you have Sharing configured correctly in System Preferences, and I'm sure you're more than capable of doing some troubleshooting there.
I suggest you email me at skippy@mactake.streamk.com so I can continue to try and assist you out of the public realm. Once we reach a solution I'll post it on the MacTake.
You might have noticed that we at the MacTake have been struggling for time lately, but things are gradually clearing up and we've got some drafts of very interesting posts up our sleeves already.
All the best Glenn, - we'd value you're contributions anytime!
Skippy.
